Position Summary:

The Social Media Associate  is responsible for creating, managing and executing all social media campaigns  to share the benefits, features and successes of LACI programs with audiences. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and executing recruitment campaigns, creating social media and digital communications strategy and content, all in alignment with LACI’s strategic goals,  to communicate and promote LACI programs, pilots, training and recruitment opportunities, events and high profile/legislative visits, advocacy and policy outreach .

What You’ll Do:

  • Social Media Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement a cohesive social media strategy to drive recruitment efforts,  increase brand awareness, build thought leadership presence, drive website traffic, and generate leads (applicants) for LACI programs. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in social media marketing, recruitment campaigns and cleantech innovation. Prepare regular reports and presentations on social media performance, insights, and recommendations for optimization to key stakeholders.
  • Manage all social media accounts: Including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to inquiries/comments in a timely manner. Utilize social media analytics tools to track performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for optimization. Experiment with new social media features, formats, and platforms to drive innovation and engagement.
  • Content Creation: Create compelling and engaging content for social media platforms including posts and videos, and collaborate with the Integrated MarCom team on graphics, blog articles and other content. Produce high-quality visual and multimedia content, including video and photography. Shoot creative content including video and photo and work with agencies on content creation 
  • Campaign Development: Develop targeted campaigns to expand channel reach, engage new audiences and nurture potential participants in LACI programs. Leverage paid social media opportunities to target new audiences, increase engagement and expand channels beyond the existing ecosystem. Build and nurture relationships with influencers, partners, and stakeholders in the cleantech ecosystem to amplify LACI’s messaging and reach.
  • Digital channel support: Support program teams with newsletter content and image compilation and manage dissemination timeline, in collaboration with the Integrated MarCom team. Manage the timely execution of website updates in accordance with LACI branding and messaging.

Social media analysis doesn’t scare you and you know what “trending” and “impressions” really mean. 
  • You can assess communication needs from different stakeholders: Whether it’s the Fundraising Team or a Program Team, you are able to determine what others in the organization need from Marketing

Requirements:

Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 4-6 years relevant experience working in an Integrated Marketing and Communications team
  • Experience directly interfacing with high-level executives and other external audiences including partners and stakeholders
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Knowledge of WordPress, SEO and SEM a benefit 
  • Experience working in an organization focused on technology, startup incubation, climate change mitigation or environment a plus

Work Requirements

  • Must work in Downtown LA Office two to three days a week or as needed
  • Ability to have an active role in events on campus, some events may require the ability to stand for long periods of time, set up/break-down, and other requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs

Position Details:

This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here. Some travel may be required.

Salary Range: Manager Range $64-74k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
